COLOR - The Beauty Of An A.S.G. Certified Diamond

One of the most important variables that affects the value and beauty of a diamond is its color. Diamonds are found in a variety of colors, such as blue, pink, yellow, brown, green and others. Each color can range in the intensity of the color itself. When a diamond has strong color it will be classified as a "fancy" colored diamond. In general, when a diamond is not classified as a fancy colored diamond, the less color it has the better and more expensive it is. All diamonds are beautiful and desirable.

A.S.G. Color Grading Standards
Each diamond is graded to strict color grading standards at the A.S.G. diamond grading center or by certified and authorized members. Each diamond is carefully compared to our  Master Color Grading Stones to determine its proper classification of color. Because of the strict standards that we employ, we can deliver consistent color grading classifications that both suppliers and consumers can depend on. The color grade assigned to the diamond is documented on an evaluation form along with other characteristics of the diamond. The  color classification that is assigned to a diamond, such as "H+" or "J+", is a value that is determined and defined by the A.S.G. diamond grading system.
